The Australian Parkour Association (APA) has run several girls' classes in 2009 that are currently on hold but the mixed classes have a solid female representation including female APA instructor Lala so do check them out!

The Monthly Girls' Jams are all-girls' training sessions to help girls with their parkour training in a friendly social setting. Girls' Jams are great opportunities for girls to practise together, exchange tips, meet other traceuses, and have fun :) The Girls' Jams are free of charge, female only and is open to all women of all ages and skill levels. An update will be emailed to the group members on Wednesday before the jam. Please check the forum post for updates and to coordinate travel arrangements.

Due to our previous success with female training sessions, we have decided to run these sessions once a month now. They will be run indoors and outdoors the first Sunday of every month, and could even become biweekly throughout the summer. All meets will be posted on here well in advance in order to keep people in the know.
One of the main questions we get is, "how are these different than male classes?". The answer is pretty simple, they are not much different. Females are capable of doing the exact same stuff males do and as such, these are taught in a very similar regard to the male trainings. It's a very non-competitive, very positive, open format where we try to accommodate everyone and make sure each person walks away with something new. Each of these meets is usually accompanied by a theme which varies from session to session.

Isa is the organizer of the 1st Colombia Jam de Traceuses, for more information about the latest practise, join the PKGirlz Facebook group. Traceuse' Jams are all-girls' training sessions are great opportunities for girls to practise together, exchange tips, meet other traceuses, and have fun.

The once-monthly outdoor Women's Jam is also open to all abilities and is a great way to meet and train alongside other female practitioners, both beginner and experienced. They are not structured classes, but present an opportunity to pick up some training tips amongst friends and to have a laugh!! There are often one or two guy PKG guest instructors kicking around too for advice on what to work on and how to break that jump... This month we will meet on Sunday 10th May at 12pm outside Latimer Road tube station. Attendance is free of charge but confirmation of attendance is politely requested ;D

London Ladies' Academy
The women's sessions have a 4-strong team of male and female dedicated coaches, weekly classes, numerous London locations and a female specific class format. Classes will be open to all levels of ability and experience, but particular emphasis will be towards newcomers to the discipline and the transitition to outdoor Parkour for those already practising. They will be held at 4 regular locations, every Thursday from 7pm - 830pm
The outdoor classes are open to all levels from absolute beginner to advanced - classes run from 7pm- 830pm and cost £10 per session, with a minimum of 2 instructors per 10 students. The classes focus on Parkour and the female body - how to build the strength neccessary to progress, and how to move with fluidity and grace. Off The Wall Jams
Parkour Generations organises free monthly mixed jams "Off The Wall" at various hotspots around London. A great opportunity to practise in a relaxed environment with experienced members of the parkour community...and there are usually a few PKGen coaches hanging around! So the past few femme jams have been a huge success, with great participation and progression from all the ladies in attendance. With all of the new women coming to the general classes, I see more of a need for these clinics now than ever. So I want to make these workshops into a monthly opportunity!
What should I wear/bring?
Normal workout wear is fine; some people prefer cargo, sweat or yoga pants that cover their knees. Bring a water bottle, a good pair of tennies, and some money if you'd like to do a group dinner after class.
How much?
Still in discussion with the owner of the gym over this. We'd like for these to be free, but at most they'll be $15.

Misconceptions about parkour and especially a woman's ability to practice are abound, so to help clear up some of these misunderstandings here are a few of the most frequently asked questions and their answers.
Can women practice parkour? Of course! Anyone can practice and excel in parkour. Primal Fitness parkour classes see many mainstay female practitioners!
What will the class cover? This two hour session will include some of the basic moves of parkour, jumping, landing, rolling, vaulting and even jumping from a box to a wall for those who feel up for it! We will cover some exercises and discuss how to continue on with your own practice.
Do women have the ability to partake in all the exercises/ drills? Absolutely! Parkour drills and all exercises done at Primal Fitness can be scaled to all levels of fitness, ability, and body type.
